Students wait on the next round of buses at the bus stop in the east parking lot.

A 15-year-old male was shot in the neck near the Cosumnes River College campus on Nov. 22.

The shooting occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., said Kristie West, public information officer.

The alleged suspect was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black hat and white gloves and is described as a black male with a scar on his left cheek and a grill in his mouth.

According to The Sacramento Bee, the victim was taken to Methodist Hospital, but West said the victim was taken to UC Davis Medical Center and was in stable condition at the time of admittance.

The victim ran north toward the apartment complex where he called police, West said.

This shooting raises questions about whether students on campus are safe.

"I feel unsafe now because of the things that go on around this campus," said 23-year-old nursing major Janet Hart. "Especially at the bus stop."

Students said they were disappointed they weren't informed about the shooting, even though it didn't occur on the campus itself.

"That was a week ago, they should've sent out a bulletin telling us what was going on or something," said 18-year-old business major Rick Carson. "Even though it wasn't exactly here, it still upsets me that I had no idea about it because it could've happened when students were out there."

It is unknown whether the victim has been released from the hospital. Campus police were unavailable for comment and additional information could not be released at this time.
