Coming to you from Mesa, Ariz. is one of the fastest moving bands I have seen in a long time.
Authority Zero is a solid band with master riffs and lyrics straight from the heart. Authority Zero singer Jason DeVore, guitarist Bill Marcks, bassist Jeremy Wood and drummer Jim Wilcox mix high energy with unbeatable sound.
Stemming from a variety of workplaces including janitorial, shipping/receiving and telemarketing, De Vore's favorite quote, "I think I can", holds true.
Authority Zero offers diversity stemming from its lead guitarist's quest for knowledge.
Marcks is a language scholar. This explains why there are several different languages used throughout the album.
If you listen closely you will catch lyrics in Spanish and Portuguese. In future releases you may hear other languages due to his desire to learn eight different languages.
Aside from learning new languages, when asked about occupations his reply was, "Thinking, drinking, writing, playing guitar, singing and all types of ill shit."
Manning the drums is considered an occupation by Wilcox, but so is helping with
the website and drinking with Marcks.
Authority Zero's bassist, Wood answered with "Fox in Socks," by the great Dr. Seuss when questioned about a favorite book. Wood works as a salesperson when he isn't playing with the band.
Produced by Lava Records, Authority Zero's debut, "A Passage In Time," is mixed well with reggae and other diverse sounds. This carries well throughout the album and adds to the overall lasting effect this band will have on you.
Tracks not to miss on this album include, "Over Seasons," "Super Bitch" and loyalty to their hometown in, "Mesa Town." I enjoyed the music as well as the lyrics and found this album easy to listen to.
Authority Zero remains loyal to their original fifth member Jerry Douglas.
While producing this album the group didn't feel complete without him, so they arranged for Douglas to be flown in to perform his original vocals.
These men, in their 20s, are in full swing and have broad outlooks on their futures.
After touring with H20, they landed a spot in Epitaph Punk-O-Rama this fall with Guttermouth.

Due to the amount of energy in this album and the extensive sound mixes, I give Authority Zero 4 out of 5 stars.
