Parking on campus still frustrating

Parking at Cosumnes River College has always been an issue of frustration for many students.

It's already hard enough to find a spot when it's time for class but things don't get easier when you have the Los Rios campus police breathing down students' necks.

In all fairness, they're doing their job when they give tickets and citations. If you don't have a parking pass, you deserve to get a ticket.

That's not the problem.

The problem is when you have a pass and you still get unfairly ticketed.

It's not fair.

Maybe the pass might not be completely visible or maybe the campus police don't look hard enough.

It's not fair to students that they paid for a parking pass and then they have to pay another $30 because the campus police are being blind.

Granted, it's not their job to inspect students' cars for a pass. But at the same token, don't be haste in giving a ticket.

Also, what is with the prices? OK, $30 is not too much. But just for being in a parking spot?

It's not like there are a lot of visitor spots that people without passes can park in. The lack of parking spots for students without passes is pretty ridiculous. Not everyone is staying on campus all day.

Why do we need to pay for the semester or even for the whole day if you only have to attend one class?

Or maybe you just have to drop something off, should you be paying for the whole day? Don't think so.

And it is a tad bit unreasonable to think that all students are going to park on the streets of Calvine and Center Pkwy and walk all the way into class.

Especially if you're running on a tight schedule.

Point is, there needs to be a little better regulation on the part of the campus police on how they give tickets and a better division of parking spots from the school.

We are paying to go to school, not to get parking tickets.
