As President Barack Obama approaches his 100th day of presidency a lot of slander has come his way regarding what he has accomplished this far.
As unfortunate as it is that this country has been devastated by an economic recession it is more so that politicians that should be supporting our nations growth are more focused on pointing fingers than lifting one.
Obama has inherited an incompetent mess that it is unprecedented in its nature and never before seen by American history. It's disappointing that many politicians are so concerned about blaming the new president for our country's current problems instead of contributing full force to stimulating our nations unsecure economy.
When President George Bush stepped into office he inherited a surplus, our country was not at war, and our nation was stable. Bush had nowhere near the amount of stress that Obama is dealing with.
In fact, Bush vacationed a total of 96 days during his first 8 months of presidency which included taking the entire month of August off at his Crawford, Texas ranch right before the 9/11 attacks. Rest assured, he did however receive his daily briefings though.
Not only is Obama trying his best to repair the damage, he is diligently just trying to maintain it while reinforcing preventive measures so we don't fall back down in the process. If anything he should be cut some slack from the Limbaugh Republican lawmakers who have insisted on not cooperating.
The lawmakers with a chip on their shoulders have forgotten about the mass amount of people they are representing. All grievances aside both parties need to meet half way to get this project accomplished. If anything, they can throw more ideas into the negotiating aspect of putting ideas into action.
It is rumored that Obama has his eye's set on Martha's Vineyard for the first family vacation at the end of August, which is also said to last as a two-week family retreat. That in which, like Bush and president's before him, will receive his daily briefings from the White House.
To clarify a presidential vacation is simple in which president's never fully get a vacation without some reasonable amount of work.
There is "the vacation," which would be a trip to Martha's Vineyard (Obama), or to the Crawford Ranch (Bush) which allows the president and his family to enjoy themselves less the daily briefings and of most important work to be dealt with.
Then there is the "working vacation," which usually takes place at Camp David which entails the comfort of a retreat but usually involves briefings and meetings with other White House officials.
Obama has a huge job with a lot of issues that demand a lot of attention. Our previous president gave us business as usual with an uneasy twist. Yet with high hopes this new president will bring us up to speed into the 21st Century.
It may very well be that Obama's new actions towards not so new ideas involving "greener" standards is the main reason for all the criticism in the first place.
